A close friend of mine shared this picture with me:

I absolutely LOVE this! While my tribe may not be large, those who are in it most assuredly are in tune with my vibe. But here’s an interesting thing that I have noticed. My vibe has resonance. By this, I mean that the energy I put out has a ripple effect, and not just for me! In my experience, those waves reach far and bounce back to me in wonderful ways.
Usually I am just being myself…being my true authentic self…at least to the best of my ability. For me, this means living my life according to what is important to me and what I believe. What does that mean? It means doing things in my own way. I’m a label reader. I avoid artificial anything. I use the beeswax fabric wraps. I take my own reusable To-Go containers to restaurants, I always decline a straw. I have zip lock bags that are several years old; I just keep washing them. (It’s a real eye opener as to how strong plastics really are.) I purchase natural fiber clothing.

In a neighborhood full of perfectly manicured lawns and flowerbeds I have a crazy garden that includes a lot of native plants, many that grow taller than me and more than a few that people around here call weeds. Go pollinators! Save the monarchs! Oops, that’s different post.

So what does all this have to do with my energy rippling out and coming back? Well by being my truest self and living in a way that makes my heart sing, the people around me come to know what my vibe is. My friends and family consider my particular vibe when buying gifts for me. We all do this. We want the recipient of the gifts we buy to enjoy them. But consider the far reach of the purchases. Because of the small amount of extra effort my friends and family put into choosing gifts for me, I have received products from companies I didn’t know existed. So I learn about the companies and people that make the gifts I receive. And by purchasing products from these companies we are supporting those businesses and entrepreneurs, helping them realize dreams of their own. What an amazing feeling that is. In several cases, I sent thank you cards (yes, actual paper cards..in the mail) directly to the businesses and told them I received a gift of their product and thanked them for what they are doing.
To further this effect, please indulge me while I give just three examples of such gifts:
Peppermint Lip Balm and Lavender Goat Milk Soap from Nanny Goat Naturals, in Hartville, Ohio. As you can see, I have not yet opened the soap. But the lip balm has been wonderful. The peppermint in the lip balm is slight and not overpowering. It goes on smoothly and easily. This is a small local business that began with two goats.
Sea Goddess Sun Butter from Nature Goddess. Lydia Spencer indeed shares my vibe! Crafting products that are as natural as they can possibly be…thank you Lydia! I love this sunscreen. At first I was put off by the fragrance, but once applied, it is only faint and quite pleasant. Save the coral reefs! Oh, right…another post. Hee hee.

Last is Seaweed Bar Soap and Dream Cream from Planet Botanicals. Again, I haven’t opened the soap yet, but it smells wonderful- very fresh. The cream is lightly scented and smooths into your skin with no oily residue. This company holds a special place in my heart for the work they are doing to protect the ocean. But Planet Botanicals is doing a lot more than that. Be sure to click on the “About” button to read the whole story.
The real take away, here, that I want to bring home is that by living the life that is the truest, most beautiful version of you, you will be sending out ripples of energy into the Universe. That energy comes back to you, like waves in the water bouncing off the shore. When those ripples return to you, that energy not only benefits you, but benefits others that are resonating with your vibe. I believe the saying goes, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Thank you Gandhi.
